Excel Public Charter School conducts activities for the purposes of locating, evaluating and identifying students with a suspected disability in need of special education services including those who are not currently receiving special education and related services and who may be eligible for those services.
What does Excel Public Charter School offer?
Excel Public Charter School offers free, appropriate, public education with a full continuum of services for students, including comprehensive special education services to eligible students. Excel Public Charter School will provide evaluations or will refer families to appropriate agencies for evaluation and services. All services are provided at no cost and referrals are confidential. The student’s legal guardian retains the right to refuse services and is provided procedural safeguards under federal and state law.
School services include screening in areas of suspected disabilities, such as vision, hearing, motor skills, speech, language, and general development. Evaluations in the schools are provided for a range of suspected disabilities including but not limited to learning disabilities, speech and language development, intellectual disabilities, emotional/behavioral disabilities.
