The next meeting of the Excel Board will take place on Tuesday, May 9th from 5 to 7 PM at Excel Public Charter School.

Schedule changes for weeks of May 8 and May 15

Hello,

This information was shared at Family Conference night on Friday, April 21 and again in a automated phone call/email that was sent yesterday. Due to Measures of Student Progress and Smarter Balance Assessment testing going on between May 8 and May 19th there have been some changes to the schedule for those two weeks. Please see the image below for information on the schedule changes and the attached letter which explains more information about both tests.

Urgent weather alert for Wednesday, February 8th, 2017

Good evening families,

Due to the Kent School District closure tomorrow Excel will also be closed on Wednesday. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause. As of now we will be reopened on Thursday, February 9th.

Urgent weather alert for Tuesday, February 7th

Good evening families,

Excel will once again be closed on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017. Regular school and after school are cancelled. We will continue to monitor the weather situation and update accordingly.

Urgent weather alert for Monday, February 6th, 2017

Excel Public Charter School will be CLOSED on Monday, February 6th 2016. School will, as of now, resume on Tuesday, February 7th, 2017. Please continue to watch this site for any updates on the school opening status for Tuesday.

Urgent weather alert for Tuesday, January 10th, 2017

UPDATED 9:14 PM: Excel will be operating on at least a 2 hour delayed start tomorrow, Tuesday, January 10th.  We are continuing to monitor the situation, as of now we will be opening doors to students at 9:40 AM.  This means that:

  • School will begin two  hours later than normal, 10:00 am, and doors will open at 9:40 am.
  • Bus pick-up schedules will also be two hours later than normal.
  • Although buses will start their routes on the late schedule, road and traffic conditions may impede progress, so buses could be running later.
  • Buses will use regularly scheduled stops.
  • School will dismiss at the normal time.

We may cancel afterschool activities, athletics and extra-curricular events due to inclement weather on late start days.

We will continue to monitor the weather and update accordingly.

Urgent update regarding the 12/9 Orchestra Concert

Dear families,

Due to the weather forecast for this evening in the surrounding areas we have decided to postpone the Friday, December 9th Orchestra Concert. We regret needing to cancel for this evening and we will definitely reschedule for a future date. We will update the website and through robocalls when we have a new date for the concert.

 

Update 12/12 @ 9:27AM: Orchestra Concert has been rescheduled for 4pm on Wednesday, December 14th.

Urgent weather update for Friday, December 9th

Updated 5:20 AM 12/9:

Excel will be operating with 2.5 hour delay, students should report at 10:30 AM to school. This means that:

  • School will begin two and a half hours later than normal (10:30 AM).
  • Bus pick-up schedules will also be two and a half hours later than normal.
  • Although buses will start their routes on the late schedule, road and traffic conditions may impede progress, so buses could be running later.
  • Buses will use regularly scheduled stops.
  • School will dismiss at the normal time.
